Reykjavík Poetics #22: Desire Lines

Wednesday 26 November 2025, Mengi

Reykjavík Poetics is pleased to present Desire Lines, a curated reading featuring the following writers from Iceland, India, USA, and the UK:

• Supratik Baralay
• Jonas Moody
• Lydia Holt
• Helga Soffía Einarsdóttir
• Shruthi Basappa

The evening is curated by April Dobbins.

Oxford Dictionary defines a desire line as “an unofficial track formed when people walk the shortest or easiest way between two places in preference to a constructed but longer or less convenient path.” We will explore this theme as a metaphor for migration, movement, trajectory, desire, belonging, rebellion, disobedience, and so much more.

RVK Poetics: Desire Lines was held on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, at Mengi (Óðinsgata 2, 101 Reykjavík), an intimate performance venue in downtown Reykjavík.

We are grateful for the support of the Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature office.
